



Our design preserved the building’s historic features while creating a seamless and accessible workspace with mezzanine floors, double-height spaces, and a dedicated ‘lunchHTAbles’ area with an open-plan kitchen. The project retains 150 years of embodied carbon and maximises renewable energy with rooftop PV panels and air-source heat pumps, ensuring a low-energy, low-carbon workspace for the future.



One judge noted, ‘It felt joyful because their values of community as a practice really flow into the space,’ while another added, ‘It is wonderful to see an architectural practice take a lovely building like this and make it in every way better.’
