Take a look inside HTA’s retrospective exhibition: Building Belonging for London Festival of Architecture.
As one of the first practices to pioneer the Post Occupancy Evaluation model in the 1970s, HTA has learnt that the best places are shaped by shared memories, neighbourly connections, everyday rituals, and the ways people adapt and care for the spaces around them.
We have developed creative strategies for engaging with communities, building trust and ensuring we hear from as many residents as possible. From workshops with children to community panels and adaptable online consultations, our Communications & Engagement team modify their approach to fit the needs of local residents.
Through film, interviews, archival material, photography and post-occupancy conversations, Building Belonging reflected on the places HTA has helped to create and what designers can learn from the people who call them home.
