Arthur House

Arthur House, designed by HTA for McAleer & Rushe and Greystar, delivers 770 student homes in Wembley Park. The prominence of the scheme’s corner-site position provided the opportunity to design the northern end as a slender tower, with the student entrance located at its base. The southern side was designed as a shoulder block with two upper setback floors, featuring a range of unit typologies distributed across both lower and upper storeys.

Conceptualised as a focal point visible from Olympic Way, the white brick clad tower contributes to Wembley’s evolving skyline and echoes nearby Apex House. A lower, warm red brick shoulder visually links to neighbouring blocks and references the colour palette of Shubette House, the first of HTA’s four Wembley schemes. The scheme is adjacent to the 7-acre Union Park North to the east, with ground-floor amenity spaces facing towards the new park. HTA was also appointed by Greystar to design a pavilion structure atop the podium garden, enhancing the generous facilities provided for students.

Internally, a robust materiality features exposed concrete ceilings and a range of room types, from affordable options to premium studios. The podium pavilion serves as a visual and social focal point for ground floor facilities, with landscaped decks and an emerging park weaving the scheme into its surroundings. Ground floor amenities are linked to the upper residential and social spaces via a sculptural spine stair near the podium pavilion.

Designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent, the development provides residential spaces and shared amenities that support a sustainable, community focused student lifestyle. The building encourages daily interactions with social, study, and wellbeing spaces. Lounges, co-working areas, a gym, yoga room, private study pods, and a landscaped podium garden all create opportunities for the incidental connections that build community.
